Identity Management Strategy

Increased outsourcing of services to Application Service Providers, collaboration with partners, and a move towards a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) meant that this pharmaceutical company’s existing tightly integrated and centralised identity management solution needed to be re-evaluated.

Klarient reviewed the existing IT landscape in Novartis, including application providers, user provisioning and management processes, security, IT strategy and direction, and partner relationships.

From this Klarient developed a roadmap for the organisation to migrate towards a Federated Identity Management (FIM) architecture and hence provide more efficient integration with service providers and partners.

In addition Klarient developed an approach to the introduction of role-based access control, including a framework for the governance, management and administration of roles as well as mapping user roles to business roles.
