Enterprise Directory Services
Klarient consultants were contracted to develop a National Directory Services Strategy for the Home Office to contain information on all staff and services and act as an "identity store" to support authentication and authorisation services.
The strategy had to take into account the fragmented nature of IT service delivery across all Home Office agencies. A by-product of the strategy was to define an approach that could be used to deliver other national applications across the Home Office. These applications would also be supported by the directory service by storing user identity, authorisation and personalisation information.
Klarient was responsible for:
- Directory Strategy development
- Deployment architecture, including mapping to distributed authentication services, directory data model and interfaces to other corporate systems, e.g. HR
- Implementation of a proof of concept system
- Directory services Business Case and procurement strategy
- Managing the security accreditation of a new hosting environment that could be used by other Home Office agencies to host national applications with similar risk profiles.
