Police Secure Network and Identity & Access Management
All UK police forces are required to share intelligence information, as a result of the Bichard Enquiry in the wake of the Soham murders. The Police National Database (PND) is being set up for this purpose.
Given the high level of sensitivity of the intelligence information that will be held on the PND individual police forces are required to implement secure networks and identity and access management systems accredited to HMG CONFIDENTIAL.
Klarient led the design of the CONFIDENTIAL network, using virtual desktops accessed from diskless thin client workstations and enhanced grade encryption, and an identity and access management solution, including role-based access control. This work also included preparation for accreditation by the Police Services National Accreditor.
